We never thought the day would come.
Cosmetics powerhouse Morphe has officially severed its relationship with Jeffree Star Cosmetics.
In a statement posted to Twitter this morning, Morphe wrote:
“Today we’ve made the decision to cease all commercial activity related to Jeffree Star and affiliated products. We expect this to conclude within the coming weeks. As we look to the future, we will continue to share updates on what lies ahead for the Morphe brand.”
The decision comes after mounting public pressure from both consumers and influencers urging the brand to re-evaluate their relationship with Jeffree, who’s problematic past has heavily resurfaced over the last few months. The YouTuber has been accused of racism, enabling sexual assault, and blackmail— to name a few.
Multiple influencers recently pulled their affiliate codes with Morphe after the brand seemingly ignored the outcry.
Though Morphe’s disassociation with JSC is a step in the right direction, some are cautious that the brand still has financial ties with Jeffree himself. On June 30th, Tati Westbrook revealed in her latest video that Jeffree is allegedly a shareholder in Morphe. If true, this allegation confirms what many fans have speculated over the years.
Multiple consumers have replied to Morphe’s statement, asking for clarification on if Jeffree Star is still financially involved in the brand.
Fans believe Tati’s allegation would also explain why products from Laura Lee and Shane Dawson sold at Morphe were immediately pulled amidst their scandals, but Jeffree’s products will take “weeks” to be removed.
“We expect this to conclude within the coming weeks” they ripped Laura lee and Shane’s products off the shelf so fast we got whiplash but with jeffree the products are still there and they expect it to take weeks…..why? Sounds fishy to me ??♀️
