The collaboration we didn’t know we needed!
Beauty brand M·A·C Cosmetics has partnered with iconic virtual lifestyle game, The Sims 4, to finally give your Sims the full-beat glam they deserve.
The first-ever beauty brand to be available in the game, M·A·C makeup comes free in the ‘Create A Sim’ tool with a game base update. The custom looks were created by the brand’s director of Makeup Artistry, Romero Jennings, with varying skin tones and makeup trends in mind— from everyday glam, to fashion-forward, to totally avant-garde.
“As a Black makeup artist, it’s especially important that the looks work for Simmers of all skin tones,” says Jennings. “My inspiration came from pop culture, street style, fashion week, social media, international travels, nature…just about everything! The looks for The Sims 4 were no different.”
Of his creations, Jennings says he took inspiration from IRL makeup looks he’s worked on from years of “endless photo shoots, masterclasses, pop culture, and hundreds of Fashion Weeks.”
But the new feature isn’t just for show. Lyndsay Pearson, General Manager and Executive Producer of The Sims, explains that this collaboration is very much about enabling users to redefine their own beauty rules and express themselves in a safe space. “For the past 20 years, The Sims has strived to empower people to express themselves—both in the game and in real life—and our collaboration with M·A·C Cosmetics further celebrates the diversity and creativity of our amazing community,” she says.
