Since the first official teaser for ‘Rhode Skin’ was posted in January, Hailey Bieber fans and skincare aficionados alike have been eagerly awaiting the product line to drop.
Despite the crowded market when it comes to celebrity beauty brands, the model’s skincare routine quickly became a thing of legend, her personification of the ‘glazed donut’ aesthetic making her the perfect candidate to launch a minimalist range. Praised for her ‘less is more’ approach, the first launch includes a Peptide Glazing Fluid, Barrier Restore Cream and Peptide Lip Treatment, which comes in unscented, salted caramel and watermelon options.
While fans are raving about the curated product range and price point (all products are under $30 USD), whether or not the latest celebrity beauty brand lives up to the hype (long term) has yet to be decided by the public.
When it comes to first impressions however, the response has been overwhelming positive. Here’s what TikTok users are saying so far…
Mikayla Noguiera, known for her brutal honesty when it comes to reviewing beauty brands says of the Peptide Glazing Fluid, that it “melted immediately, feels very hydrat[ing],” and saw “no pilling, so I think makeup would go nice[ly] on top.” Similarly positive, she says of the Peptide Lip Treatment: “this is sensational…I would buy this again and again and again.” She also thanked Hailey for making an unscented option in the lip treatment and the Glazing Fluid and Restore Cream fragrance free.
While skincare is best reviewed over a period of time and with consistent use, the first impressions of Rhode Skin are that the products are high quality and great value.
Similarly to Mikayla, Aysha Harun affirms she appreciates the products being fragrance free, before explaining that the Glazing Fluid “absorbs really quickly into the skin” and is “really refreshing.” Of the Barrier Restore Cream, she says “it’s definitely a rich, thick formula…when I go to sleep at night I like a really thick moisturiser, [so I] really like how this feels.” Aysha continues “I definitely feel like my skin looks super glowy and beautiful.”
Niaka Jumulo says of the watermelon flavoured Lip Treatment: “This smells like a watermelon sour patch, it smells so delicious,” but is also “super hydrating and is a pretty thick formula.” Of the Peptide Glazing Fluid, Niaka says it feels “somewhere between a serum and a moisturiser…and feels amazing on the skin. It’s definitely making my skin feel plump and moisturised, just off of the first impression…and you can see, glowy.”
The Barrier Restore Cream she explains is her single favourite product. “This feels luxurious. That’s stunning,” she says of the moisturising product. She concludes her review by saying “Everything was amazing.”
While Hailey has said she hopes to expand the Rhode Skin range, the initial products launched have been incredibly well received. Where celebrity beauty brands often leave much to be desired, Rhode Skin is currently standing alongside Rare Beauty, blowing users away with its quality, packaging and price point.
As influencers and consumers both integrate Rhode Skin into their day to day routines, we’ll be eagerly awaiting the long term skincare reports for Rhode .
