Alix Earle’s suspected new boyfriend, Miami Dolphins receiver Braxton Berrios, has addressed the cheating allegations levelled against him.
ICYMI, rumours started circulating in February when Deuxmoi alleged that Alix and Braxton were “canoodling” at a party. At the time, users believed Braxton to be in a relationship with influencer Sophia Culpo, with many speculating whether he cheated on her for Alix.
Since then, Sophia has shared posts and liked comments supporting these claims, indicating that these rumours might be true.
But Braxton has recently taken to Instagram to share his side of the story. In the video, he explained why his previous relationship ended and clarified the timeline.
“I don’t want to fuel anything. I genuinely want all this to be over,” he begins. “I was in a relationship [with Sophia] for two years. It was a good relationship. It was a healthy one, and toward the end of it, we had conversations along the lines of ‘we just weren’t working out’.”
Braxton goes on to explain that the pair just fizzled out and had broken up in January.
“It had nothing to do with anything else…[or] anybody else, for that matter,” he reflects. “It’s been very weird and sad to see what has gone on since then… I have been quiet because it is totally out of character to talk about my private life publicly.”
Braxton’s timeline was met with immediate skepticism by fans who highlighted an Instagram post from February 5. Sophia’s friend, @adriannamoreno_, shared a picture from a group trip, where the couple can be seen together— casting doubt on Braxton’s claim that the pair broke up in January.
However, after some sleuthing, TikTok users like @stephwithdadeets and @amandachristine_1 believe this trip occurred earlier that month.
Nevertheless, suspicion continued to grow. Many internet users questioned whether there was a “cross-over” between the relationships, given that Braxton moved on quickly. According to a tip sent to Deuxmoi, Alix met Braxton at the Pegasus Horse Race in Miami or Myles Shear’s Birthday party. These events took place on January 29 and February 1, respectively.
Sophia’s recent post to her TikTok story seemingly validates many fans’ suspicions. The story includes a picture of a man from the back – presumably Braxton – with February 13 as the date. She goes on to write that the couple “broke up after the Drake concert Super Bowl weekend where he was seen making out with another girl.” That girl is believed to be Alix.
Sophia also included screenshots of her alleged messages with Braxton. In these texts, Braxton tells Sophia that he “still want[s] to be with” her on January 31. But by February 11 – Super Bowl Weekend – the couple seemed to be on the rocks.
“Not bitter, in fact, I know this situation has been one of my biggest blessings. I wish everyone in this situation all the best, including myself, which is why I’m here to share the truth so I can officially be done with all of this,” Sophia concludes.
Here’s to hoping that these posts will finally put an end to all the back-and-forth.
