Bryce Hall is headed for the silver screen.
The TikTok star has been cast in a new Hollywood thriller film based on internet fame, Skill House.
According to Deadline, the film will be shot at Bryce’s former stomping grounds, the mansion that previously housed the now-defunct Sway House. Bryce co-founded the Sway House in 2020 alongside Josh Richards, Blake Gray, and others, to compete with rival creator collective, The Hype House.
Written and directed by Josh Stolberg, the film will be a dig at LA influencer culture and the click economy, exploring how far people will go to attain virality and fame.
“Working with Bryce Hall and Ryan Kavanaugh, this is sure to be a first of a new horror genre,” Stolberg— who is also the filmmaker behind horror films such as Spiral: From the Book of Saw and Sorority Row— told Deadline. “These social media personalities are the new Hollywood, and they are reinventing what it means to be a star. When a young kid from Maryland, like Bryce, with nothing but a cell phone and a ring light, can attract tens of millions of followers on Tik-Tok and Instagram, it evens the playing field for everyone. But there’s a dark side to this new entertainment landscape, and I’m excited to flip that rock over.”
This will be Bryce’s first leading role in a feature film.
Skill House is set to be released in 2023.
