9 Beauty Brands Supporting Pride Month 2020

Like most things this year, COVID-19 has put a hold on Pride celebrations for the month of June. But just because we can’t celebrate IRL doesn’t mean there aren’t other ways to show our support. From charities holding virtual festivities to Global Pride happening digitally on June 27th, there are still opportunities aplenty to show up for the LGBTQ+ community.

One of the most effective ways to show up is to put your money where your mouth is and support companies who actively work towards moving the needle for marginalised communities.

So if you’re looking to purchase from brands that have gone beyond the trending hashtags and performative allyship, consider one of these eight beauty brands— each supporting Pride 2020 with tangible contributions and sizable donations.

Marc Jacobs Beauty

A long-time supporter of LGBTQ+ rights, Marc Jacobs Beauty has pledged a $10,000 donation to both Le Refuge (works to prevent isolation amongst LGBTQ+ youth) and SAGE (supports older members of the LGBTQ+ community). They also launched five new shades in their Enamored Hydrating Lip Gloss Stick for Pride 2020 to support both organisations.

Face Halo

Face Halo has released a limited edition rainbow-coloured eco-friendly makeup remover in support of Pride 2020. The brand is donating 5% of all proceeds to The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide-prevention nonprofit organisation which provides a 24-hour, toll-free confidential crisis hotline for LGBTQ+ youth.

Kiehl’s

Long-standing skincare brand Kiehl’s has donated $100,000 to The Trevor Project and has also partnered with Just Like Us (works to support LGBTQ+ school communities) on a limited edition design for their Ultra Facial Cream, of which they are donating a portion of proceeds to the charity.

Youth to the People

Youth to the People has released a limited edition With Pride kit containing a cleanser, a mask and an exfoliant. The vegan brand is donating 100% of the profits to GLSEN, an organisation committed to creating safe and inclusive schools for LGBTQ+ students, with a maximum donation of $75,000.

Morphe

Cult makeup brand Morphe is also supporting GLSEN this Pride month, with their limited edition Free To Be Collection. The rainbow collection includes a 10-pan eyeshadow palette, lip glosses, makeup brushes and a setting spray, with 100% of the net proceeds, a minimum of $50,000, being donated to GLSEN.

NYX

NYX is supporting Pride month with three product launches available in America, the Shout Out Loud Pride lipstick range, the Vivid Brights eyeliners and the Pride Edition Ultimate Shadow Palette. NYX is also donating $50,000 to LGBTQ+ organisations around the world.

Sephora U.S.

Sephora U.S. has launched their We Love Pride collection, containing six limited edition products from various stocked brands, including the Sephora Collection. The American wing of the beauty giant is donating $1 from every purchase of the collection to LGBTQ+ charities across the country.

M·A·C Cosmetics

M·A·C Loves Pride introduces a limited edition collection containing an array of bright and glittery colour cosmetics. The brand’s Viva Glam lipstick collection donates 100% of proceeds to organisations working to end HIV/AIDS in an effort to provide healthy and safe futures for LGBTQ+ communities around the world.

Glamcor

Aussie-born company Glamcor is the leading manufacturer of professional, portable lighting and vanity mirrors. For the month of June, this revolutionary brand is donating 40% of the proceeds from their limited edition Pride 2020 design to The Trevor Project.

We love to see it.
