Seventeen-year-old Storm Reid is breaking into beauty.
The Euphoria actress revealed she’s adding ‘ambassador’ to her resume as the new global spokesperson for Maybelline New York.
“A STORM is coming to @Maybelline New York,” she wrote on Instagram. “Wow. I’m absolutely honored. FLOORED to join the Maybelline Family, and be a part of a brand with a shared mission to inspire, drive change, and empower women. I can’t wait to create more beautiful things together. It’s only up from here.”
The brand told WWD that tapping Storm for the role is part of their wider strategy to reach Gen-Z. The brand recently partnered with TikTok star Sienna Mae Gomez as well. “We have traditionally used models,” says Amy Whang, senior vice president of U.S. marketing at Maybelline. “But in a lot of our advertising, we’ve tapped into new talent. We wanted to align ourselves with a spokesperson that really resonated with the Generation-Z consumer.”
The teenage powerhouse will act as the face of the Maybelline Fit Me range this summer, and will also be part of the brand’s Brave Together initiative to support anxiety and depression.
Of the parntership, Global Brand President Trisha Ayyagari said, “Storm is a standout voice and changemaker. She is a deeply talented actress, a courageous champion of equality and has energy that lights up any room. I’ve always admired Storm and knew she would be a great addition to the Maybelline brand.”
We can’t wait to watch her take the beauty world by storm.
