On December 14th, Jamaica’s Toni-Ann Singh was crowned the 69th Miss World.

This was a monumental moment for women of colour, as it marked the first time in history that black women hold titles for Miss Teen USA, Miss USA, Miss America, Miss Universe and Miss World.

Toni-Ann beat out 111 other women for the title, saying in her acceptance speech that this “feels like a dream” and she’s “ready to get to work.”

After the ceremony, she also tweeted a heartfelt message to women around the world: “To that little girl in St. Thomas, Jamaica and all the girls around the world – please believe in yourself. Please know that you are worthy and capable of achieving your dreams. This crown is not mine but yours. You have a PURPOSE.”

And if that’s not heartwarming enough, the moment was made even more special by Toni-Ann’s competition, Miss Nigeria.

As Toni-Ann’s name got announced, Nyekachi Douglas of Nigeria burst into literally the happiest dance we’ve ever seen, hyping her friend up for the major win.

Even if pageants aren’t your thing, you need to see this reaction.

And of course, the internet can’t get enough of this wholesome content.
