Jeff Wittek Sues David Dobrik For $10 Million Over Excavator Accident

Updated: June 24th, 2021

Jeff Wittek is not ready to make nice with former friend David Dobrik.

The creator took to his podcast yesterday to address David’s apology over an accident that occured while shooting a vlog together in 2020 that almost left Jeff blind. During the bit, Jeff swung from a rope attached to an excavator parked in a lake. David was driving the excavator when Jeff crashed.

“I tore some ligaments in my leg, I broke my foot, I broke my hip, I shattered my skull in 9 places, I shattered my eye socket, I almost lost my eye, and I almost died,” Jeff later said of his accident.

Nearly two years later, David finally addressed the accident on his podcast VIEWS, alongside Jason Nash and Natalie Mariduena. Though he apologised to Jeff, David made a point to clarify that the stunt was Jeff’s idea. David also insisted that Jeff was not being truthful about the details surrounding the accident, saying he feels like he’s been expected to take 150% of the blame for what happened that day.

Jeff has now responded to David’s apology in a new episode of his podcast.

“I appreciate [the apology], Dave, after the last hour of slander,” Jeff said. “I’m not going to beat you up anymore. I’m just going to take this the right way, the smart way, and just let the courts decide, you know. You’re making a lot of statements here that are very untrue, that are so easy to disprove. So, let’s just let the courts decide.”

Months later, it seems Jeff is standing firm in his threat after court documents obtained by TMZ reveal that he filed a lawsuit against David for “general negligence and intentional tort” related to the accident.
