Ethan Klein has cancelled his podcast interview with ex-Vlog Squad member Jeff Wittek after receiving threats from his friend.
During a recent live stream, Ethan explained that Jeff was scheduled to appear on his podcast this week to discuss his recent drama with David Dobrik, but H3H3 team decided to cancel the interview after Jeff’s friend “came to our f**king gated community and was filming, driving by our house and saying, ‘I have all the info you need Ethan, don’t test me!'”
“Like threatening me and my family in front of our house,” Ethan said.
ICYMI, Jeff was seriously injured back in 2020 during a prank he was filming for David Dobrik‘s channel in which several members of Vlog Squad spun around on a rope attached to an excavator. David was driving the excavator.
“I tore some ligaments in my leg, I broke my foot, I broke my hip, I shattered my skull in 9 places, I shattered my eye socket, I almost lost my eye, and I almost died,” Jeff later said of his accident.
While Jeff and David initially appeared to be on good terms, Jeff has been publicly speaking out against his former friend in recent weeks. During a February 2022 live stream, Jeff revealed that David hadn’t messaged him to check in after his traumatic injury. “I’m done being fake friends with that motherf**ker,” he said.
He then proceeded to pull out of a collab video roasting Bryce Hall due to David’s involvement.
“I’m no longer a part of the roast of Bryce hall,” he tweeted. “My entire set will be cut due to censorship, and David Dobrik being involved. I refuse to be a part of anything that scumbag is involved in from here on out.”
He continued, insinuating that David is a “coward” who “can’t take jokes”.
While David has not addressed Jeff’s public jabs, fans have understandably been curious to hear what changed between the two— a question Jeff was expected to answer on the H3H3 podcast before Ethan cancelled his appearance.
The Klein family also confirmed they cancelled Jeff’s interview via Twitter, saying they are “so glad Jeff is no longer coming on the podcast” after receiving the threats from Jeff’s friend.
The friend in question is reportedly Cody Padrino, who’s been posting Instagram stories about Ethan “running his mouth” over the past week.
Cody— apparently born Cody Concepcion— appears to be a 35-year-old fitness and lifestyle influencer who turned to motivational speaking following a stint in prison.
He allegedly began threatening the Klein family after Ethan publicly poked fun at him.
Guess we’ll be waiting a bit longer to hear Jeff’s full side of the David Dobrik story. And in the meantime, here’s hoping he re-evaluates the company he keeps.
