The beloved Lady Red Couture, star of the YouTube series Hey Qween, has passed away at the age of 43.
The tragic news was confirmed by her friend and co-host Johnny McGovern via Twitter in a touching tribute.
“It doesn’t feel real but the beautiful light that was Lady Red is gone. #RIPLadyRed I love you baby. I will miss you everyday,” he tweeted. Jonny also included a note with some details of her passing.
“This morning at 5am I received a call from the hospital letting me know that Lady Red had just passed away.” Jonny says she was stable the night before and ready to move out of the ICU. “But very early this morning she had an episode and coded and she was gone.”
Jonny asks that fans allow those close to Lady Red to have some space to grieve.
Jonny followed up by saying he will be starting a GoFundMe to help with her arrangments, but any that are currently out there linked to Lady Red are fake.
Earlier this week, Jonny revealed on IG that he had rushed the legendary viral star to the hospital for complications with her chronic condition, cyclic vomiting syndrome.
Lady Red will be sorely missed. RuPaul, Latrice Royale, Ross Matthews, The Vixen, Trixie Mattel, and many others have paid tribute to the star on social media.
