Off the back of the D’Amelios’ foray into television with The D’Amelio Show, it seems youngest sister Charli D’Amelio is looking to take her acting career to the next level. The 17-year old is set to star in supernatural thriller Home School— the first of a rumoured eight part movie franchise by Proxima Media, and directed by F. Javier Gutiérrez, best known for 2017 horror film, Rings.
Charli is set to play 17-year-old Mira, who is forced to move to live with her aunt after her mother passes away. She soon discovers her new town is not picture-perfect like it initially seemed, as her mother’s death and her own future become supernaturally intertwined.
As Charli explains to Deadline; “As soon as I read Home School, I knew it was for me. I connected with the character, Mira, the story, the script, and the team. I knew if I was going to do a movie, it needed to be something fun, edgy and fresh. While the role will certainly be challenging and push me to learn to act and become Mira, it’s a fun ride and meant to be fun to make and fun to watch,” she said.
While there is no release date yet, production is slated to kick off in July this year. We can’t wait to see TikTok’s sweetheart make her feature film debut.
