Chelsea Hart is speaking out about what happened during her relationship with fellow TikTok star Lance Tsosie.
Chelsea, an Alaskan activist with over 1.7 million followers, took to TikTok yesterday to quell vicious rumours about Lance and share her story.
The creator explained that she was recently in a long-distance romantic relationship with Lance for about six months. Lance, who goes by Modern Warrior on social media, boasts around 3 million TikTok followers and is best known for posting about Native American culture.
Chelsea claims that Lance suggested they explore a polyamorous relationship which she immediately turned down. “I thought he would oblige until we could talk about it later,” she said of their plans to unite in real life.
Chelsea later flew to Denver to meet Lance “under the pretense” that polyamoury was off the table. Less than 24 hours after their time together, Chelsea found out that Lance was on a date with another woman after he posted a TikTok with her.
Chelsea says Lance “felt entitled” to her body because he had supported her through her healing from traumatic experiences and she had grown to trust him.
Lance apologised to Chelsea in a now-deleted TikTok video. “I’m very sorry that our friendship has come to this,” he said. “I’m very sorry for not being the effective communicator that I wanted to be.”
Chelsea quickly responded to Lance’s apology, saying, “I may be pregnant with your child, and you are apologising for your communication?”
She went on to say she would have “never opened up [her] body that intimately” to Lance after the trauma she’s been through if she knew he wasn’t being faithful.
“Don’t you dare try to apologise for your communication,” she said. “Why don’t you apologise for taking care of my vulnerability to get in my pants?”
Following the back-and-forth, a woman named Amanda Marie has come forward with an “identical” story to Chelsea’s. “He denied me informed consent,” Amanda said of her experience with Lance after finding out he allegedly lied about sleeping with other people.
Amanda clarifies that she is “not endorsing” any of the rumours being spread online about Lance by “white supremacist nazis”.
“None of that is true. That is, that is false,” she said. “But he is a liar, and he is a manipulator, and I told him I wouldn’t [make a video], I told myself I wouldn’t do this, but I am doing this because this is insane.”
White TikTok users have since been harassing an indigenous woman Lance posted on his social media profiles around the time of Chelsea’s Denver trip. Chelsea has taken to TikTok one last time urging people not to send the woman hate, as “she was also a victim”.
In the following days, other TikTok creators voiced their opinions on the situation, largely concerning the issue of informed versus uninformed consent. Some TikTok users have labeled Chelsea’s situation as a case of uninformed consent, considering she agreed to be intimate with Lance under the false pretense that he was not seeing anyone else.
This led to black activist, @auntkaren0 implying that Lance’s behaviour was comparable to sexual assault, in a now-deleted TikTok video.
Lance responded to this video, calling the accusation “misinformation” and “ridiculous”.
Chelsea proceeded to post several TikToks sharing further details about her relationship with Lance. She also uploaded videos that she had allegedly sent to him over the course of their relationship when she was in a deeply emotional state and dealing with the trauma of losing a child. These videos, which have since been deleted, led TikTok users to question her motives and the validity of her story.
As Chelsea’s behaviour online grew increasingly concerning, fans flipped seemed to flip on the creator— calling her out for perpetuating harmful rhetoric about Lance and continuing to slander his name. While many agree that Lance was probably leading her on, there is a stark difference between being cheated on and being sexually assaulted.
In recent days, several of Chelsea’s biggest champions have retracted their support and apologised to Lance. Aunt Karen has come forward saying Chelsea manipulated her into sharing her story for her own personal gain, while Amanda Marie made a video claiming she was also used her as a pawn, and that Chelsea’s recent behaviour shows she’s doing this all for attention.
Chelsea has not addressed the backlash at the time of writing.
