TikTok dancing seems to have paid off for Charli D’Amelio!
After ten busy weeks of rehearsals and performances, the social media influencer has won this season of Dancing With The Stars and the coveted Mirrorball Trophy with her partner Mark Ballas.
The series finale featured two performances by each celebrity and their partner. The first round, known as the “redemption dance,” is chosen by the judges. Here, the pair perform a dance style from earlier in the season, hoping to improve their initial score. Next is the “freestyle category”, where the couples can select any style of dance with no limitations on the moves allowed.
Charli and Mark performed a redemption jive to ‘Grown’ by Little Mix, and a freestyle dance was to ‘Us Again’ by Pinar Toprak. The couple scored a perfect 40 out of 40 in both categories.
Charli was up against three other celebrity finalists vying for the top spot – comedian Wayne Brady, drag superstar Shangela and television personality Gabby Windey.
Though this season was full of talent, Charli and Mark claimed the top score every week and solidified themselves as the season’s frontrunners from the get-go. But with the series coming down to a popular vote, there is no denying that Charli’s massive social media following helped secure the win.
